Maya de Filippo
Maya founded The Buyer's Agent Portugal after navigating the Portuguese property market herself — first as a foreigner buying in Portugal, then as someone watching friends and clients fall into the same traps. The market is structured around sellers. Without independent representation, buyers are negotiating against professionals while having no one in their corner.
With a background in international relations, business development, and property investment, Maya combines analytical rigour with deep local knowledge across the Algarve, Lisbon, and beyond. Her approach is methodical, transparent, and uncompromising on the one thing that matters: representing the buyer.
The buying journey shouldn't be a guessing game. Every client deserves someone whose loyalty is structurally aligned with theirs.
Joe Pyke — Co-founder & Partner
Joe brings a complementary perspective to the practice. With years of experience in property finance and project management, he leads on the technical side of every acquisition: structuring, due diligence, mortgage coordination, and the operational execution that takes a deal from offer to escritura without surprises.
Together, Maya and Joe represent a small number of serious buyers at any one time. The exclusivity is intentional — it allows us to give every client the attention the work requires.
